PromptWhisker — Privacy Policy

The PromptWhisker app does not collect or transmit personal data. Your prompts stay on your device unless you export, share or copy them yourself. Support e-mail and this website are explained separately below.

• All prompts, collections, variables, decks, images and settings are stored only on your device.
• The app contains no network code: no server, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no third-party SDKs.
• AI features (Prompt Doctor rewrites, variable value suggestions, Variablize, and title & collection suggestions) run entirely on-device via Apple Intelligence. Your prompts are never sent to us or to anyone else by the app.
• Exports are files you create and share deliberately; they never leave the device on their own and contain no hidden identifiers.
• Since the app sends us nothing, there is nothing for us to disclose, sell, or lose. Deleting the app removes PromptWhisker’s data from your device; files you exported, text you inserted or shared elsewhere, and device or iCloud backups remain where they are until you delete them there.

PromptWhisker includes an optional custom keyboard for inserting your saved prompts in apps that allow custom keyboards. Its privacy rules are strict:

• The keyboard never logs what you type and never transmits anything — like the app, it contains no network code at all.
• Browsing and inserting your prompts works without “Allow Full Access”.
• “Allow Full Access” is only needed for one optional feature: the keyboard’s Add button, which hands text you selected back to the PromptWhisker app. This handoff happens purely in shared local storage on your device (an iOS App Group). With Full Access on or off, PromptWhisker does not transmit your prompts; sharing and export happen only when you choose.

PromptWhisker moves content only when you choose to: inserting with the keyboard, copying, exporting, sharing, or opening another app from a prompt. Once content is in another app or service, that app’s own privacy terms apply. The JSON export contains your text library, versions, collections, variables, decks and settings, but not attached pictures.

If a future version ever changes any of this (for example optional iCloud sync, which would place your data in your iCloud account), this page and the App Store listing will say so clearly before the feature ships.

These pages are static: no cookies, no scripts, nothing loaded from third parties. They are hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). Like any web host, GitHub records technical connection data such as your IP address in its server logs for security purposes — see GitHub’s privacy statement. We have no access to those logs and keep none of our own.

Mit dem Löschen der App werden ihre Daten vom Gerät entfernt; exportierte Dateien, anderswo eingefügte oder geteilte Texte sowie Geräte- und iCloud-Backups bleiben erhalten, bis Sie sie dort löschen.

The only personal data we ever handle is what you send us yourself when you write to that address: your e-mail address and the content of your message. We use it solely to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR), keep it only as long as your request takes, and pass it to no one; the mailbox is operated for us by Apple (iCloud Mail). You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or, where applicable, a portable copy (Art. 15–18 and 20 GDPR), object (Art. 21 GDPR), and lodge a complaint with the Austrian Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at).
